The infoZika project monitors everything that is known about Zika virus and Zika fever. We do this by analyzing the scientific publications about it.
Often, an epidemic also triggers a "publication epidemic". Here you can navigate the history of the Zika research and see how research about it, once rare, has grown dramatically in the last few months.
Scientific knowledge grows collaboratively. When articles cite other articles, they are building upon previous knowledge to make new discoveries. In this visualization we can see how the knowledge network about Zika is interconnected.
We show the time series of publications by year so that we can understand the resemblance of this interest growth to the actual epidemic.
